Styrian Piste Seal of Quality for Reiteralm Bergbahnen - awarded to the top ski mountain for the seventh time!

The renowned Styrian Piste Quality Seal is also known as the "Oscar of the cable car companies". Section chairman Fabrice Giradoni congratulated this year's award winners for their commitment to top quality, safety on the mountain and investment in infrastructure and sustainability.

The Reiteralm is already a "veteran" of the Styrian slope quality seal. The slopes of the Reiteralm have been awarded this coveted seal of quality for the seventh time in unbroken succession.

Particularly noteworthy is the awarding of the international Gold Piste Seal of Quality.

The Reiteralm has now received this prestigious award for the fifth time in a row - as the only ski mountain in the European Alps!

The International Skiareatest is an anonymous quality check with comprehensive test criteria. Over 220 experienced Skiareatest members from various professional groups and nationalities collect anonymous impressions and evaluate the participating ski resorts with know-how, objectivity, seriousness and experience. The International Skiareatest has now developed into a premium brand and is used for the continuous further development of quality, safety and offers in Alpine tourism. The renowned, recognized quality check has been carried out in over 50 ski and tourism destinations to date.

On October 20, 2023, the Summer Awards ceremony took place at Lake Wolfgangsee in the new Erlebnisquartier. Skiareatest President Klaus Hönigsberger welcomed numerous guests of honor at the ceremony under the patronage of LH Stelzer, Upper Austria, LH Haslauer Salzburg and Austria's top cable car operator NR Hörl in addition to the numerous invited guests.

Last summer, the Reiteralm Bergbahnen underwent a comprehensive quality check by the international ski area test. The entire summer offer and especially the "Bike" and "Family" areas were tested.

In the end, the Reiteralm was awarded the title of "Test Winner Summer 2023". Gold trophies were also awarded in the "Fun & Action", "Family" and "Bike" categories.

It is also worth mentioning that the international summer seal of approvalwas awarded for the wide and varied bike offer.

The presentation of the awards is always associated with a well-organized programme. This year, the awards ceremony took place in St. Wolfgang in the new Erlebnisquartier, combined with a tour of Lake Wolfgangsee, an air show by the Flying Bulls and the best food and music.

Last winter, the Reiteralm Bergbahnen underwent an all-encompassing quality check by the international Skiareatest. Throughout the winter, the ski mountain was tested intensively and anonymously in all areas.

Awards were achieved in these categories:

• Safety Trophy
• Adventure and family mountain
• Daniel Berchthaller was awarded the prize for "Best Cable Car Management".

The awards ceremony took place this time in Gstaad in Switzerland; in a unique atmosphere, embedded in the mountains of the Bernese Oberland, with musical accompaniment and the best catering, the prizes were awarded, perfectly organized by the Skiareatest team under the direction of engineer Klaus Hönigsberger.

The world's largest test portal for ski resorts, Skiresort.de/.at/.ch/.info/.nl/.be/.fr/.it, honors the best ski resorts worldwide and the best ski resort services in 2025.

The Schladming - Planai/Hochwurzen/Hauser Kaibling/Reiteralm ski resort (4-mountain ski area) was named test winner 2025 in the "5-star ski resort" category by Skiresort.de, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.

After intensive certification, the Reiteralm Bergbahnen was awarded the coveted "Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts" seal of quality.

From summer 2022, the Reiteralm will therefore be a member of BÖSB and may use this seal of quality. The Reiteralm currently specializes in the topic of "family" and offers a correspondingly wide range of activities on the mountain.

The Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts seal of quality is an initiative of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce's Cable Car Association. The seal of quality unites the experts and pioneers of Austrian summer mountain tourism among Austria's cable cars. Only companies that fulfill at least 160 quality criteria become members of the Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts. They must also specialize in one of the five themes - adventure, family, panorama & nature experience, enjoyment, art & culture - and pass the re-certification every three years.

For over 20 years, the Best Austrian Summer Mountain Lifts seal of quality has stood for a variety of nature experiences in mountain summer destinations. Only those mountain railroads that meet at least 160 quality criteria are certified. Mountain experience guaranteed!

Reiteralm was honored by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce for "Entrepreneurial Achievement" on the occasion of the company's 50th anniversary.

As part of a small ceremony, Reiteralm Bergbahnen was presented with the "Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement" certificate by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce.

Managing Director Daniel Berchthaller was presented with the beautiful certificate by Regional Office Chairman Egon Hierzegger and Regional Office Manager Christian Hollinger, representatives of the Styrian Economic Chamber.

"On the occasion of "50 years of Reiteralm Bergbahnen", we would like to congratulate the company on its continuous successful development and thank it for its commitment and wish it all the best and continued success," said the representatives of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce in unison.

Berchthaller was delighted to accept the prestigious award from the Styrian Chamber of Commerce. "The vision, the courage and the power of implementation that the founding generation had was simply unique. This was the only way to create this large and important infrastructure company. We will now lead the Reiteralm into the next 50 years with the same commitment," says the managing director of the largest private cable car company in Styria.

The Reiteralm Bergbahnen company was founded on March 21, 1971 and only 6 months later, on December 21, 1971, operations were launched and the first guests were warmly welcomed!

Over the course of 50 years, numerous investments were made almost every year in all areas. These include the new cable cars, the spacious piste areas, the modern snow-making system and the fleet of snow groomers. In addition, "pure skiing enjoyment" has been expanded with numerous attractive offers.

In recent years, the focus has also been placed on "Summer Reiteralm". Here too, the offer has been constantly expanded - today the bike trails, the large family offer, the themed trails and much more invite you to enjoy, linger and relax in addition to the wonderful hiking and nature enjoyment.
