How to get to the Reiteralm Summer Mountain Railway: Preunegg Jet

Our Silver Jet gondola in the valley is NOT in operation during the summer! In the summer, our Preunegg Jet gondola will take you up the mountain instead. You can look forward to state-of-the-art cable car technology and the best conditions for a perfect day in the Schladming Mountains.
The gondola’s upper station is right in the heart of it all and serves as the starting point for all activities and attractions! Whether you’re interested in hiking, biking, or simply relaxing and especially the wide variety of family-friendly activities - they’re all located around the gondola’s upper station or are easily accessible from there.
Here's how to get to the Preunegg Jet on the Reiteralm
The Preunegg Jet’s valley station is located right on Preunegg Straße - easily accessible and the perfect starting point for your adventure-filled day in the mountains.
Coming from Salzburg, take the A10 and head toward Schladming via the Ennstal interchange. Once you’ve passed the valley area, simply turn toward Preunegg—and you’ll be right in the heart of it all: bike trails, family hikes, and alpine mountain tours await you.

Directions by Car
The Preunegg Jet valley station is located slightly above the valley in Preunegg.
- By car: Take the Ennstal Federal Highway B320 via Pichl, take the Preunegg exit, and follow the road toward Preunegg for about 3.5 km.
- Coming from Rohrmoos: Continue toward Preunegg until you arrive directly at the Preunegg Jet valley station.
Coming from the west (Salzburg), you’ll reach the Preunegg Jet after about 70 km on the highway and a few kilometers on the B320.
Coming from the east, take the route through Liezen along the Ennstal federal highway to Pichl/Preunegg.

Parking at Preunegg Jet in the Summer
Right at the Preunegg Jet valley station, you’ll find plenty of free parking spaces for cars and buses. This way, your mountain adventure can start off stress-free, and after an action-packed day on the Reiteralm, you’ll be back at your vehicle just as quickly.
Facilities at the valley station: Reiteralm Bike Center
In the summer, the valley station features the Bike Center, the ticket office, a lift, and restroom facilities. The Bike Center Reiteralm offers bike rentals, including protective gear for adults and children. This means you can travel light and cruise down the Reiteralm trails with top-of-the-line equipment.
Good food in the mountains and in the valley
If you’d like to refuel after biking or hiking, you’ll find cozy places to stop for a bite to eat on the mountain or in the valley.
Enjoy regional delicacies, sunny panoramic terraces, and the magnificent view of the Dachstein at our summer mountain huts:
- Gasselhöhhütte
- Reiteralmhütte
- Eiskarhütte
If you’d rather stop for a bite in the valley, there are also several options:
- Bankwirt (about a 1–2-minute walk from the valley station)
- Restaurant Edelweiß
- Schnepf’n Alm (about a 2-minute drive from the valley station; it takes longer on foot and it’s uphill!)
A quick trip to the hiking and biking paradise of Reiteralm
Right from the parking lot, the Preunegg Jet takes you quickly and comfortably up to the Reiteralm - your bike is transported up in the gondola, too. This way, even the ride up becomes the first highlight of your day in the mountains.
Once you reach the top, the popular Reiteralm trails await you - from flowing lines to action-packed single trails for all ages, as well as stunning hikes like the trail to Spiegelsee with its spectacular view of the Dachstein Massif.
The Preunegg Jet gondola will operate this summer season through November 1, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please note the operating days during the season. Thanks to Early Hike & Bike, you can start your mountain adventure in Schladming on the Reiteralm every Saturday and Sunday as early as 8:00 a.m.
