Route description: Alpine circular hiking trail with 3-summit tour

Your hike begins at the mountain station of the Preunegg Jet cable car.

You continue along hiking trail no. 66 via the "Hahn'l" on the ridge of the Reiteralm to the summit cross of the Gasselhöhe (approx. 2001 mSH).

After a somewhat "more leisurely" section of the trail with only a few steeper sections, you continue along the ridge towards Rippeteck, where you reach the summit of Rippeteck (2,126 mSH) via a somewhat gravely ascent (approx. 15 min).

From the Rippeteck, a path leads you down a fairly steep descent to the Gasselseen lakes.

The first is the Obere Gasselsee , also known as the "Obersee".

The path takes you to the middle Gasselsee, the famous "Spiegelsee" with a reflection of the Dachstein.

From the Spiegelsee, the trail leads you back to the starting point.

Variant via Schober:

In the Obersee area, a path branches off towards the 3rd summit called Schober. Starting point approx. 1,920 mSH.

Allow approx. 1 hour for the steep ascent and descent.

The summit of the Schober is at approx. 2,133 mSH.

Variant via Untersee:

Halfway from the Spiegelsee lake, a variant via the Untersee lake and the "Stille Wasser" theme trail is possible (takes approx. 30 to 40 minutes longer).

Please note: sure-footedness and good footwear required!
